Unlike the prior PlayStation 4 game ports, Death Stranding and Horizon Zero Dawn, Days Gone was built on the Unreal Engine 4 from Epic Games.

Instead, I’ll be going over the port itself – What works, what does, and ultimately is this a good port. Now, this isn’t a review of the game, as we have already reviewed Days Gone on the PS4 several years ago. But now the gloves are off, and I can talk about what I feel is one of the best efforts on porting a PlayStation 4 title to the PC. I’ve spent the past week talking about this game and answering as many questions as PlayStation would allow. While one can draw many parallels between Days Gone and The Last of Us, the former lacks the je ne sais quoi that TLOU is revered for.The day is finally here, and we can officially talk about the Days Gone PC port, which releases on May 18th, 2021, for the PC. One can only hope that the PC port reinvigorates interest in the largely-forgotten title. While that might seem a tad high for a two-year-old game, the bonuses one gets with the PC version should justify the price tag. Much like Horizon Zero Dawn, Days Gone will also cost US$49.99 on Steam and the Epic Games Store.

However, Days Gone failed to make as much of an impact as its predecessors - Horizon Zero Dawn and Death Stranding. Days Gone is, after all, a first-person shooter. Then again, many players would much rather prefer the comfort of a keyboard and mouse instead of a controller. Several PC-specific improvements such as support for monitors with an ultrawide (21:9) aspect ratio, unlocked framerate, customizable foliage draw distance, a better photo mode, and more have been showcased, too.ĭays Gone on PC will also support a wide range of controllers, including third-party ones.
